I'm glad too about the login thing! Liquid must condense above the tray and then slowly drip down onto the tray. Possibly some aspect of the freez thaw cycle.
No, Derek convinced me he was right. The outer part of cube freezes first, and as the bottom layer expands, it forces the liquid center out through micro-cracks in the top, it builds up the same way as a volcano does.
