I found this table on http://nextbigfuture.com/2008/03/deaths-per-twh-for-all-energy-sources.html. I found it especially interesting that more people die every year falling while installing rooftop solar, than in nuclear accidents!

Pirate Feast

Ellen and I went to see the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie on Wednesday. It wasn't that good a movie, but it tasted fantastic!

We went to a special showing at the Alamo South Lamar, that had a 5 course "Pirate Feast" with paired wines.

We walked to the theater, anticipating 5 paired wines being a lot of wine. And we were right! But the walk home was just the thing to clear our heads, and Ellen showed me a scenic route through a very nice part of town.

BBQ Bus

I won a contest by writing reviews of well known Texas BBQ joints, so Google took me and 20 others on a party bus tour of Austin, stopping at three of the better reviewed places.  We ate at Sam's, Willie's, and Vic's.

Yes, thats a stripper pole in the back.  And the driver advised us multiple times "you can do whatever y'all want back there, I don't care.  And we just hose it out when you're done."

Look, we made a pilgrimage!

Went back into Manhattan this Sudnay on the way to Ellen's uncle's house in New Cumberland, PA. We tried (once again) to see the Statue of Liberty, but we spent too much time at the Met. That place is even more amazing than the Natural History Museum! (Or at least larger and cheaper to visit). (Look - Ringo's golden drum!)



After the Met, we walked to Whole Foods for a snack, and then caught the A train down to the WTC. But we decided to get off at the half way point and go back to Newark for our car, since we were running way behind schedule and didn't want to keep Ellen's relatives up later than we had to. I was really disappointed, but I guess the statue isn't going anywhere!

And I got to see some other statues that are even older, so that's something.
